Channel Seven has axed footy talk show The Armchair Experts for the 2025 season.
The show, hosted by Cam Luke and Adam Cooney, has aired on their digital and broadcast platforms for the last seven years, usually after Friday night footy games and recently expanded to an NFL version featuring Ben Graham.
The host broadcaster has undergone significant changes, with new shows and talent coming into the mix, including SEN’s Craig Hutchison and Kane Cornes, and the likes of Nick Riewoldt and potentially Caroline Wilson.
However, while they are expanding their arsenal of footy talk shows, The Armchair Experts will not be returning.
Co-host Adam Cooney revealed the news on SEN Breakfast, saying the show had been put on ice after seven years.
“Who would’ve thought that show wouldn’t run forever. It is a sad day. The Armchair Experts are no more,” Cooney said.
“Seven years. We started on digital. We started out on Twitter and eventually we got to broadcast.
“I’m just a victim of some of my colleagues here (at SEN) coming in and taking the cash,” Cooney joked.
