Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is excited to unveil its AFL Nation commentary team for the 2025 AFL Premiership season, headlined by the addition of legendary broadcaster Stephen Quartermain.

Quartermain, a highly respected voice in Australian sports media, famous for his “Leo Barry you star” call in the 2005 AFL Grand Final, will join AFL Nation to broadcast Saturday afternoon games, plus other fixtures throughout the year.

SEN’s premier Thursday night coverage will feature acclaimed commentators Gerard Whateley and Dwayne Russell, while Friday nights will be led by Russell and Matt Hill.

The play-by-play team will be joined by a formidable roster of expert commentators, including Kane Cornes, Gerard Healy, Brad Johnson, and former West Coast Eagles Premiership coach, Adam Simpson, ensuring every game is analysed with unparalleled insight and expertise. A host of additional expert talent will be revealed in the new year.

SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison, said: “AFL Nation is the home of Australia’s most comprehensive and passionate AFL coverage, and 2025 is set to be our biggest season yet. The addition of Stephen Quartermain is significant for us, and we’re thrilled to have him join an already outstanding team of broadcasters. With some exciting announcements still to come, footy fans are in for a real treat in 2025.”

Quartermain himself added, "I'm looking forward to getting back in the commentary box with the SEN family. 2025 promises to be another intriguing and unpredictable season, so it will be great to be part of it all again."

AFL Nation is syndicated to more than 60 radio stations across every capital city and throughout regional Australia.

In addition to the live broadcasts, SEN will continue to deliver unmatched access and engagement through SEN Stadium, offering real-time, in-venue commentary for fans attending the games, and SEN Sync, a seamless synchronisation feature for those watching live on TV and listening to AFL Nation.
