Ryan Phelan has found some value on a great card of feature racing at Bendigo.
R1 – 6:37pm – Bendigo Locksmiths Free For All - 1650m
10 – Tango Tara
1 – Louie Lou I
8 – Sew What
9 – Code Bailey
R2 – 7:12pm – Bendigo Ski Boat Centre NMW Pace – 1650m
8 – Bolramski
9 – Kathys Free
6 – Emily Vincent
11 - Harryhoo
R3 – 7:47pm – Prydes Easifeed Pace – 2150m
5 – Raging Whitebait
4 – Keayang Wasabi
1 – Plains In Heaven
8 – Shadow Celt
R4 – 8:19pm – Worlds Best Hoof Oil Pace – 1650m
9 – Cheerstolou
5 – Anakin
6 – Michawey
3 – Polly Peachum
Cheerstolou hasn’t won for a while but strikes a very winnable race here on the back of a very good performance last time out at Shepparton when he flashed to the line late. The claim of Tasmyn Potter sees him very well in under the ratings conditions here, and I think there will be plenty of speed on for him to finish strongly.
BACK: 9 Cheerstolou – 2 Units (win)
R6 – 9:22pm – Garrards Horse & Hound Bendigo Pacing Cup (G2) – 2650m
5 – Tact McLeod
11 – Cantfindabettorman
9 – Triple Eight
4 – Hector
R7 – 9:50pm – J & A Mazzetti Painting Mares Pace – 1650m
5 – Just As Well
6 – Vee Em Gee Macray
9 – Younggiftedandblack
8 – Heavenly Gipsy
Just As Well has come up a massive price here in a race where she looks very well suited. I’m prepared to overlook her last run and asses her on previous efforts where she’s shown good speed to lead – that’s when she’s at her best.
BACK: 5 Just As Well – 1 Unit (win) 1 Unit (place)
R8 – 10:19pm – Sheahan Plumbing Trot – 1650m
9 – Aldebaran Boyd
6 – Thunda Struck
1 – Lair Of The Eagle
4 – Destrier
Aldebaran Boyd shapes as a great value runner here with the race potentially setting up in his favour. Lair Of The Eagle has plenty of ability, but is a slow beginner up in grade, and there’s a chance Im Bobby and Thunda Struck may cut at each other over the mile. Aldebaran Boyd has been racing well and if the above scenario presents will sweep home well.
BACK: 9 Aldebaran Boyd – 1 Unit (win) 1 Unit (place)
R9 – 10:47pm – Haras Des Trotteurs Trot – 1650m
4 – Illawong Larajay
1 – Aldebaran Acrux
6 – Aardiesbythehill
2 – Aldebaran Miley
Illawong Larajay displayed the form we know she’s capable of last time sprinting home strongly when driven cold at Cranbourne. When she races like that she’s an above average mare in this type of grade so I’m sticking with Greg Sugars back aboard.
BACK: 4 Illawong Larajay – 2 Units (win)
