How all of the Aussies performed in the first round of the Australian Open singles draw

A total of 22 Aussie players competed in the men’s and women’s singles first round at the 2025 Australian Open.

While it was a tough opening day for the Aussies at Melbourne Park, things got much better on day two as a raft of homegrown players progressed through to the second round.

After three days of first round action, seven men and three women are through to the second round.

Alex de Minaur defeated Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets on Tuesday night to make it 10 Aussies through to the next phase.
