SEN Cricket’s Tom Morris has provided a trade update on a raft of big names ahead of the inaugural 10-day player movement window.
The window opens on Sunday January 28, with teams able to sign players from other clubs who are not contracted beyond the current season.
Players can also be traded, as well as overseas player draft positions. Clubs also can’t re-sign or extend player contracts during the period.
Morris, who initially broke the news about the player movement window, took to X where he revealed some potential moves for several players.
Check out his update below.
Beau Webster (Melbourne Stars)
“Beau Webster looks headed back to @HurricanesBBL after eight seasons in Victoria. Nothing official yet, but all parties expect it to happen,” Morris wrote.
Mitch Owen (Hobart Hurricanes)
“@StrikersBBL are heavily into Mitch Owen, who is weighing up his options.
AJ Tye, Jason Behrendorff & possibly Ashton Agar (Perth Scorchers)
“Looks like some or all of AJ Tye, Jason Behrendorff & possibly Ashton Agar will be on the move as @ScorchersBBL pivot to youth, though Aaron Hardie has re-committed on a multi-year deal.
Tim David & Riley Meredith (Hobart Hurricanes)
“Tim David & Riley Meredith are both hoping for better deals from @HurricanesBBL, and if they can't fit in the cap, expect @StarsBBL to pounce.
Harry Dixon (Melbourne Renegades)
“Expect @StrikersBBL & @ThunderBBL to have a crack at @RenegadesBBL batter Harry Dixon if he doesn't re-sign this week.”
