Liverpool have left it late to claim all three points over Brentford, as they now hold a six point lead with a game in hand at the top of the Premier League table.
The off the bench heroics from out of form striker Darwin Nunez, who scored two goals in the 90th minute, helped seal the victory for the Reds after their full match domination was staring down the likelihood of being a draw.
Liverpool’s 37 shots and 61% possession summarise what was a total domination from one of the best sides in the world at the moment.
Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins have made life easier for the Reds after their goals forced a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates.
This draw leaves the Gunners in second position still and now two games behind Liverpool with only 16 more matchdays to come.
Controversially, the Gunners thought they had the win when Mikel Merino’s strike in the 87th minute went in to give Arsenal a 3-2 lead. However, VAR saw enough in a deflection off Kai Havertz’s arm to rule out the go-ahead goal, which left fans around the stadium very disgruntled.
Bournemouth have broken Newcastle’s nine game unbeaten run in some style, as they defeated the Magpies 4-1 away from home in the early game.
A Justin Kluivert hattrick for the Cherries did the most damage, as Bournemouth now see themselves in sixth position and only a point outside the top four.
Fulham got themselves back up to within four points of the top five after they took care of Leicester away from home. A 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Emilie Smith Rowe and Adam Traore make life even harder for the Foxes, as they now see themselves in second last on the table after recording their seventh straight defeat.
Crystal Palace gained their second win in a row, after getting the better of West Ham at the London stadium overnight. The Eagles’ goals came from their French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has now recorded four goals from his three last matches.
The Eagles are yet to lose a premier league match since the 22nd of December, when Arsenal defeated them at Selhurst Park 5-1.
The Premier League action continues on Monday morning, where Nottingham Forest and Southampton will do battle.
Manchester United will host Brighton at the same time, where the Red Devils will continue to find a way out of their rough patch of recent form.
Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs side travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton, as they look to bounce back from a 2-1 North London derby defeat.
Chelsea will look to gain all three points against the Wolves, with a rise to fourth as the reward if they’re able to get the job done.
And Manchester City will look to extend their four game unbeaten run, when they take on Ipswich Town away from home.
