Carlton midfielder Adam Cerra has signed on for a further five seasons.

The 25-year-old was already signed until the end of the 2025 season, with his new deal now taking him through until the end of the 2030 campaign.

The smooth mover has played 129 AFL games since being drafted initially by Fremantle at pick No. 5 in the 2017 Draft before joining Carlton ahead of the 2022 season.

Blues head of list management Nick Austin was thrilled by the on-baller’s re-signing, adding that he believes that Cerra still has levels to add to his game.

“Adam has had an impact in our side since his arrival at the football club, and for him to commit his future long-term at IKON Park is a show of faith, not only with us towards Adam, but also his faith in the Club and his teammates,” Austin said.

“He’s a much-loved, highly respected figure in the playing group, both for what he does on game day and also what he does during the week. He’s dedicated to getting the very best out of himself with the way he prepares and he sets the standard for many.

“He was one of our most consistent players throughout the 2023 season and at just 25, we think he’s still got levels to add to his game. He’s struck up a great relationship with the playing group and his leadership gets better every year.

“Adam has all the qualities we value in a Carlton person, and we know our members and supporters are going to enjoy seeing him continue to grow at our club for a long time to come.”

Defender Adam Saad is another player who has recommitted to Carlton, with the 2022 All-Australian defender signing on for one more season.

The 30-year-old will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2026 season.
