Australian squash legend Geoff Hunt is this week’s guest on This Is Your Journey – thanks to Tobin Brothers.
Hunt is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in squash history having won four singles world championships in 1976 (London), 1977 (Adelaide), 1979 (Toronto) and 1980 (Adelaide). He also claimed silver in 1981 also in Toronto.
Across that stretch from 1976 to 1980, Hunt was the number one ranked player in the world. His four consecutive world title wins also came in the first four Squash World Championships with the inaugural event coming in ’76.
Originally from Melbourne, Hunt could go on to finish his career with 178 wins from 215 tournaments he entered.
After retiring, Hunt was Australia’s head squash coach at the AIS from 1985 to 2003. He’s also worked as a private coach for professionals thereafter.
He was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame last November.
The Aussie great discussed his career and much more in this week’s episode.
