The Perth Lynx celebrated a night of triumph at the 2024/25 Cygnett Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Awards Night, with four of their players receiving prestigious accolades at the League’s night of nights in Melbourne.

After a spectacular regular season, which saw the Lynx finish second in the League standings with a 16-5 record, Ally Wilson and Laeticia Amihere were both named in the WNBL 2024/25 First All-Star Team.

In her first season with the Lynx, Wilson finished the season ranked fifth in the League for assists (96), with impressive stats of 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Meanwhile, Amihere – in her first season in the WNBL - ranked fifth in the League for points scored (a total of 316 at 15.9 per game) and tenth for rebounds (132 at 6.5 per game), as well as averaging 1.7 assists per game. Amihere’s defensive game was one to be feared, as she also ranked fourth in the League for both blocks (25) and steals (38).

Joining them in the spotlight, Anneli Maley and Miela Sowah were named in the WNBL 2024/25 Second All-Star Team.

Lynx co-captain Maley's consistent contributions and versatility were key to the Lynx's success, averaging 11.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Maley was huge off the glass all season long, ranked second in the League for rebounds (241), and in the top ten for steals (34).

Sowah had arguably her best season to date, and – off the back of a mountain of hard work – ranked fourth in the League for points scored (319), along with averaging 15.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Perth Lynx General Manager, Samantha Macpherson, expressed her pride in the team's individual achievements.

"We are incredibly proud of Ally, Laeticia, Anneli and Miela for their well-deserved, League-wide recognition," Macpherson said. "Their hard work, dedication and talent have been instrumental in our success this season. These awards are a testament to their commitment to the game and their outstanding performances on the court."

The Perth Lynx will now look forward to their club Awards Night on Wednesday (February 19), before the semi-finals playoffs commence this weekend in Perth. After a nail-biting, extra-time win against Townsville to bring the WNBL regular season to a close, the Lynx have earned the right to host the Fire on Saturday (February 22) at Bendat Basketball Centre.
