CAULFIELD

Race 4 | 2. Tropicus

Drawn nicely so interesting to see if Zahra squeezes forward. Comes out of the best races in the spring and that form is perfect for this! Was good resuming in slow tempo (tad keen) so a little quicker will help as well today. Like fitness edge over Lofty Arch from a tricky gate.

Race 6 | 4. Semana

Was good late in the Orr even though had all favours. (Back to mares here) I backed her at MM where the pace dominated and again she was ok! Has the fitness edge and good track and third up is perfect. Drawn better than fave but Grinzinger Belle is only real leader so if she gets it easy across will be very hard to run down.

Race 8 | 9. Palm Angel

Been on her for a little while and luckily passed vets inspection this morning. Only loss was horrible gate which isn’t her concern today. Will box seat but luck is critical in a Blue Diamond and she will need it in straight. A very open race with no real stars and where Field Of Play and Cherish Me with perfect draws and form will be the two toughest for Palm Aangel to beat.

Race 9 | 1. I Am Me (each-way)

Scratched last week and today suits nicely for her first up! Will lead and take a mountain of running down. Flies fresh, loves good track and runs in the best behind the best!! Maybe better at 1000m first up but at double figure odds she is a great each way play!

ROSEHILL

Race 2 | 3. Point Basse (each-way)

Normally runs well and the odds are overs. Runs well fresh and trialled fairly decently without being asked to do a great deal! Normally has no early gate speed but would prefer to see him jump at least with them! Good track and 1300m also huge positives.

Race 3 | 5. Step Aside

Interesting prep so far and had a chance last start but didn’t ping as he was essentially first up! Blinkers stay on and staying at the 1300m helps. Drawn to get an absolute peach behind Lady Boss who is the danger. Winston will get too far back off a slow tempo.

Race 4 | 1. Bonita Queen

Back to the 1100m is a huge tick!! Gets the 3kg claim which will help added with the drop in class! Has never backed up on seven days but doubt it will be an issue . Theblade is a nice horse and gets a fun draw but hoping gets a pair or two back and spots the Queen too much.

Race 6 | 10. Bel Merci

The best horse in the race is Wodeton but I’m with the filly who was brilliant on debut and the race form has held up (if you like MM form) she is Drawn a lot better (2 compared to 9) and has trialled up really well.

Race 8 | 1. Broadsiding

Not much can be said about this bloke. Was so good in the Cox Plate and forget the Cantala. He won the Golden Rose first up and this field isn’t as strong. I love Public Attention but drawn horribly so I side with Broad. They will run 1-2.

Race 9 | 6. Wategos

Has great second up form and expect the speed map to suit him well. Will squeeze forward and be in the race! Up to the 1400m suits nicely. The QLD winter form was great for this and I can see this horse being the leader at the 200m and holding them off!

KANGAROO ISLAND (#CamLovesACup)

Race 6 | 4. Persian Empire

Had no barrier luck in town last start and this is a lot easier! Can follow Eureka’s Victory over from a wide gate and take a sit or even hold the fence. Well weighted and good jockey makes it hard to beat!
