Vossy and Brandy's Round 2 NRL Tips

Round 2 kicks off in Newcastle on Thursday night as the Knights take on the Dolphins.

SEN’s Greg Alexander and Andrew Voss are split for Thursday night’s match and believe there are plenty of 50/50 games across the weekend.

Thursday 8pm @ McDonald Jones Stadium

Voss: “The Knights were really bad last week against the Tigers,” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“I know they got the win but they were poor. I think there’s points in the Dolphins side so I’m going with the Dolphins in a tight game.”

Alexander: “If the Knights get the same output from Kalyn Ponga as they did last week against the Tigers, the Knights win.

“That’s why I’m going to go for the Knights at home.”

Warriors v Manly Sea Eagles

Friday 6pm @ Go Media Stadium

Voss: “You can’t pick the Warriors on the back of last week’s form and what the Sea Eagles did.

Alexander: “I also can’t ignore what Manly did last week. The Warriors seemingly have a bit of work to do.”

Penrith Panthers v Sydney Roosters

Friday 8pm @ CommBank Stadium

Voss: “You can just lock this one in for the Panthers.”

Alexander: “Yep, I’m going Panthers.”

St George Illawarra Dragons v South Sydney Rabbitohs

Saturday 3pm @ WIN Stadium

Voss: “I’ll go the Dragons but I’ll just say, beware of Cody Walker. He’s had a couple of good games in the past for Souths against the Dragons.”

Alexander: “Souths will miss Jack Wighton so I’ll go Dragons.”

North Queensland Cowboys v Cronulla Sharks

Saturday 5:30pm @ Queensland Country Bank Stadium

Voss: “I’m going the Sharks because I can’t go past (how bad) the Cowboys were last week.”

Alexander: “Sharks were good to start against Penrith and the Cowboys were very poor last week but they will be better.

“There will be some bounce back factor in some of these sides and I reckon we could get burnt.”

Canberra Raiders v Brisbane Broncos

Saturday 7:35pm @ GIO Stadium

Alexander: “I’ve got the Broncos winning but Ricky Stuart will love that.”

Voss: “The Raiders can upset the Broncos but I don’t think it will happen in this one.”

Parramatta Eels v Wests Tigers

Sunday 4:05pm @ CommBank Stadium

Voss: “I am absolutely torn on this one. I think I’ll go the Tigers but with not much hope.”

Alexander: “I’m going to go the Tigers because Api Koroisau, Jahream Bula and Starford To’a are back in the side.

“That’s enough for me to think they’ll get the job done.”

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Gold Coast Titans

Sunday 6:15pm @ Belmore Sports Ground

Voss: “The more I look at this Titans side, I wonder why they aren’t favourites.

“I’m tipping the Bulldogs because I think they are better.

“This is the match of the round.”

Alexander: “The Titans could win but I’m going the Dogs too.”
