Collingwood legend Peter McKenna thinks that Nick Daicos could end up being the Magpies' greatest player ever.
McKenna, who is in the conversation himself after kicking 838 goals for the Magpies from 180 games, has loved watching the young star through the first three years of his career.
He also hailed Nick’s older brother Josh who has himself become an elite player as an All-Australian and best and fairest winner in a premiership year.
“They're two different types of footballers, but Nick could be the best player ever at Collingwood, he's that good,” McKenna told *This is Your Journey – thanks to Tobin Brothers.
“His enormous engine and skill is just one out of the box. They don't come around too often.
“Josh has improved out of sight the last couple of years and has become a top player, their skill level is enormous.”
As well as their exploits on the field, McKenna credited the duo’s parents Peter and Colleen Daicos for raising such humble sons and footballers.
“I've known them since they were tiny little boys,” McKenna said.
“They are not only terrific and skilled footballers like their dad, but they are the most humble, beautiful guys you could ever meet.
“They're just a lovely family with Peter and Colleen, I actually sent them both a text a couple of weeks ago to congratulate them on how humble they are when they talk to the media and to the general public.
“They're just beautiful guys and that's what I go by.” McKenna discussed the modern-day Pies, his remarkable career and much more on this week’s episode.
