The lads have taken a close look at Sandown & Randwick Kensington in a bid to find the family some winners.

SANDOWN

Race 4 | 10. Divine Thoughts

Blake Shinn goes on and from that gate won’t go around a horse while staying hard hence. There is a little bit of speed with Macedonian Marvel and Reset The Jazz will both squeeze forward as well so hoping they all don’t get too keen. Was fairly good first up and up to 1500m second up both big ticks. As long as the speed is too it’s liking I think DT will be so hard to run down. No Fuss is my major concern. I’m taking him on here as he is slow away normally as as long as they don’t go stupid up front it will be hard to do what he did last start which was somewhat freakish here last start. Liberami was good last start behind King Zephyr who will win later in the day. I think it might also get run of the race right behind the speed but maybe a slight toe in the ground would give it to extra length it would need so I’m sticking with the horse in front and Shinn!!

Race 6 | 1. Stage 'N' Screen

This is a really nice race but I’ll stick with this girl. Comes out of the stronger races from the Spring and was pretty good at Moonee Valley resuming and Icy Pole was ok on the weekend in a group race. 1400m suits nicely and her only other race over this distance was at Flemington over Cup week! Claim is a big advantage here as is the gate compared to Bronte Beach who is the danger after a nice win on debut before being tipped out. She is very promising and has jumped out well but might get a little far back here and I’ll bank on race fitness to get SNS home.

RANDWICK KENSINGTON

Race 2 | 2. Scrumptious

Should have won last start (when I backed it) and I feel will be very hard to beat here again. Will squeeze forward and sit outside leader or possibly even lead. Not a huge amount of speed from tried horses so need to see what the first timers do. Waller / JMac have the fav Ernaux and expect it to box seat after trialling well. Spice Prawn comes out of same race Scrumptious and had even more excuses when running on well on debut and expect it to improve a lot today. Up to the 1100m works well for Scrumptious also!!

Race 3 | 6. Monte Veebee

When you are bumping into horses like Lady Shenandoah and El Castello you have been in nice races last prep. Has trialled up well as a gelding and shouldn’t go around a horse from gate 1. I am waiting to see the track before really backing it. Good track is what this bloke needs. I am jumping off Marais who I backed first up but wasn’t bad at Canberra. If soft track she will be the one to beat.

Race 6 | 8. Midnight Dynamite

Forget last run down the straight at Flemington for a million different reasons. Back around bend to an easier race and controlling the race all add up nicely. Prior to break leading into the race he ran well in the Gosford Guineas and also chased home Private Harry. Ballroom Bella will come over from that wider gate but hopefully doesn’t annoy Midnight Dynamite too much. The danger and probably classiest horse is Althoff resuming as a gelding and has trialled up well. I am thinking with Midnight Dynamite controlling the speed the 1150m might be too short for him and will hit the line really well but will not run Midnight Dynamite down. Quicker turnaround is another plus as he had 2 months and only 1 trail heading into last start.
