“What a d---head”: Demons great in car crash while defending former club

Melbourne legend David Schwarz believes it isn’t time to ring any alarm bells at his former club following their disappointing 59-point loss to North Melbourne.

The Demons were buried by six straight majors to start the final term, falling drastically in a result very few saw coming.

Schwarz told SEN WA Breakfast that the result should be put down as simply a bad day.

“Let’s not be outrageous,” he said.

“They have had a really big pre-season; they’ve turned a lot of it around from what happened last year.

“Now we've got (Clayton) Oliver playing good footy, (Christian) Petracca going okay, Max (Gawn) is down but the board is settled, it was just a bad day in the office.

“They got outplayed in most areas, but they will certainly learn from it and I think they will bounce back.”

In the lead-up to this weekend's major clash with the Gold Coast Suns, Schwarz believes the game may raise eyebrows around the club if the Demons fail to pull off a positive result.

“They will certainly be asking questions,” he continued.

“I’m not making any big predictions when it comes to Melbourne this week, I’ll be laying very, very low, but I’d expect them to ask questions.”

As Schwarz backed his former club, the SEN regular was also backed into… quite literally.

"Mate, I've had an idiot just back into me," Schwarz told Scott Cummings and Tim Gossage, as a car clipped his front-end.

“Can you believe that? He’s just touched me, what a d---head!

"I've just got a parking fine and I have pulled out and a bloke has just backed into me, what a goose!

"He's only just touched me. I've got his number plate. I'll track him down later on.

“How’s that. I've had a great start to the morning."
