Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has revealed Adelaide forward Riley Thilthorpe is their highest rated player in the AFL since Round 21, 2024.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a consistent start to the 2025, booting three goals in all three of the Crows’ wins, while also having 22 score involvements overall.
And his strong finish to the 2024 season has seen him reach number one on Champion Data’s ratings over the last 10 home and away games.
“The three aspects of the game that the rating system measures (is) how you win it, where on the ground you win it, and what you do with it,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.
“He wins it in a contest. He wins contests ahead of the ball. And then his distribution by foot is superb.”
Hoyne was also complimentary of the key forward’s accuracy, with Thilthorpe booting 18 goals from his last 25 shots.
Sportsday host Gerard Healy also had big wraps for the number 2 pick in the 2020 national draft.
“He wins the ball, he distributes it, very rarely turns it over,” Healy said.
“He's a ratings beast.”
“He's a great distributor too. He goes left and right. There’re very few tall blokes as skilled as that guy. Very few midfielders are as skilled as this unit.”
