Fremantle legend Paul Hasleby has awarded major praise to this years’ Glendinning-Allan Medallist, Caleb Serong.

Serong, who collected his record-equalling fourth Derby medal, accumulated a game-high 35 touches in the Dockers’ 106-68 win over the West Coast Eagles.

Hasleby, who now shares the record of four medals with Serong, believes the 24-year-old midfielder could become one of the greatest Dockers in the club’s history.

“There is a new Derby king in town,” Hasleby told SEN WA’s The Run Home.

“Caleb Serong, his fourth Glendinning-Allan Medal on the weekend… what a player this guy is.

“35 disposals, 10 clearances, he is still only 24… he is going to go well past my record (of four medals).

“He is on track to become one of the top three greatest Dockers in history, joining Nathan Fyfe and Matthew Pavlich.”

Beyond Serong’s heroics, Hasleby had huge praise for the young debutant Isaiah Dudley.

The 21-year-old small forward booted two goals in his first appearance for the club, alongside six score involvements and 10 disposals.

“Isaiah Dudley, terrific to see,” Hasleby continued.

“Two goals in the first quarter, he also set up another one.

“Smaller version of Willie Rioli, he reminds me a lot of him, in the way he shapes the ball.

“He looks like he has got a lot of class and poise, and Fremantle are crying out for a player in their front half that’s got that.

“He will win free kicks because of his height, and as we saw yesterday, a player that doesn’t need too many touches to have an impact.

“I see a lot of the same in those two players.”

After claiming their first win of the season, Fremantle will look to back up their performance with a clash against the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium next Sunday.
