Champion Data has revealed their top 10 player rankings through four rounds in 2025.

The ranking system scores players based off of performance relative to their position on the ground, allowing for comparison between players in different positions.

Lead analyst Daniel Hoyne explained the reasoning for the top 10 on SEN's Sportsday.

“This is the 100X Ratings System which allows us to be compare the competition against the competition based on expectation of how you’ve performed in that position,” he said.

10. Jack Sinclair (St Kilda)

“He will be the first player in our ranking system for the best part of six or seven years to be a top 10 player for four years in a row if he continues like this.”

9. Bailey Dale (Western Bulldogs)

8. Caleb Serong (Fremantle)

“Caleb Serong probably has the right to put his hand up as the best midfielder in the competition.”

7. Ben Long (Gold Coast)

“He is flying at the moment. Keep an eye on him this Saturday, and what he does over the next few weeks.”

6. Lachie Ash (GWS Giants)

“Clearly having his best season. We talk about ‘Movember’, if you can’t move (the ball) in September, good luck to you.

“Your chances of having success are slim to none. Lachie Whitfield probably gets a lot of credit, watch out for this guy… what he is doing with GWS’ ball movement game is significant.”

5. Dayne Zorko (Brisbane)

“He is fifth in the competition. I mention that word – ‘Movember’ - a lot of these players are involved with the ball movement game for their teams.”

4. Zach Merrett (Essendon)

“Last year he was high, he was top 50 in the competition. This year, all damage. 70 per cent of his ball has been won forward of centre. Last year, 40 per cent of ball was won forward of centre.”

3. Touk Miller (Gold Coast)

“Really happy for this. That new role, spending a little bit more time forward of centre has really suited him.”

2. Riley Thilthorpe (Adelaide)

1. Sam Darcy (Western Bulldogs)

“Probably no surprise. Hardly anything (between Thilthorpe and Darcy) in what they are actually doing at the moment.”
