The misery continues for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham after a humiliating 4-2 loss to Wolves leaves the Australian manager's future hanging by a thread.

Languishing in 15th on the Premier League table, Spurs are on course for their worst season since 1993.

A few weeks ago it was reported that only a victory in the Europa League could save Postecoglou. Now, media reports in the UK suggest he will be lucky to see out the week.

Spurs travel to Eintracht Frankfurt for the quarter-final second leg later this week with some suggesting change could occur before the teams steps on a plane.

“It’s a funny old game," Postecoglou said after the Wolves defeat.

"The performance wasn’t too bad but the goals we conceded made it difficult for us. I thought we were in the game and controlled it well, but we conceded really poor goals."

Liverpool is now 13 points clear at the top of the table after a 2-1 win over West Ham United.

The Reds now have the title in their grasp after Arsenal dropped points to Brentford on Saturday.

It’s the second game in a row that the Gunners have failed to walk away with the three points after Brentford gallantly held on to take a 1-1 draw at The Emirates.

The Bees only managed to have three shots on goal for the whole game, whilst the Gunners had 14 attempts to try and put the visiting side away.

There are only six games left in the Premier League season as well for the north London side, with one of them being against Liverpool at Anfield in what now looms to be a title determining matchup.

Manchester United suffered another defeat, going down 4-1 to Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Harvey Barnes scored a brace as the Toon slid up top fourth, further strengthening their pursuit of Champions League football.

Chelsea missed the chance to advance up the standings, drawing 2-2 with Ipswich Town to fall to sixth.

Nottingham Forest have given themselves a tough task in qualifying for European football as they went down to Everton at home.

The Toffees, who have had a mini resurgence since David Moyes arrived back at the club, managed to find a winner the 90th minute thanks to a ill-timed error from Brazilian defender Murillo which saw Abdoulaye Doucouré score just his third goal for the season.

The win for Everton sees them climb to 14th on the table, whilst Forest remains vulnerable in third after Manchester City dispatched Crystal Place at home overnight.

The reigning champions went down early to the Eagles, conceding the first two goals of the game inside the first quarter of an hour.

A Kevin De Bruyne free kick, plus an Omar Marmoush volley, ignited the Citizens back in form, squaring the ledger before half-time.

This also kickstarted a run of momentum that the visitors couldn’t contain in the second half, as City went on to pile on three more goals and run away 5-2 winners.

Aston Villa left it late to take the three points away from their trip to Southampton.

An Ollie Watkins inspired dominance saw them eventually capture the 3-0 victory, which could’ve been more if Marco Asensio put away his penalties.

The Spaniard was denied twice from the spot in the second half, with former Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale brilliantly saving both penalties.

Brighton have continued their frustrating run of disappointing results after they couldn’t get over the struggling Leicester City at home.

The Seagulls scored both of their goals from the penalty spot, which were both cancelled out from the Foxes shortly after to ensure the result would be a 2-2 draw.

It’s now the fourth game in a row that Brighton have not managed to walk away with a win, as they hold on to their spot in ninth ever so dearly with Bournemouth breathing down their neck three points behind.

The Cherries will look to leapfrog Brighton on Tuesday morning when they take on Fulham at home.
