Sydney’s Chad Warner has re-signed at the Swans, inking a deal until the end of 2027.

Per SEN’s Tom Morris, the WA-born star midfielder has committed to the Swans, despite ongoing rumours that the 23-year-old was seeking a potential return home.

With interstate offers on the table rumoured to be worth significant money over multiple years, the midfielder opted to remain with the club, citing the connection with those at the Swans as a major cause for re-signing.

“I’m really happy to be staying. I’ve loved every minute of my time at the Swans and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” Warner said.

“From the moment I arrived six years ago all the people – the players, coaches, and staff – have embraced me and helped me feel at home.

“The amount that the club has shown that they can do for myself, my partner, my family.

“That gradual build along this whole year has meant the whole world to me, and I honestly can’t thank them enough for the amount they have done and have continued to do.”

Despite the Swans' slow start to the season, amounting just two wins from their first six games, Warner maintains the belief that the club can turn it around, with high praise for his teammates suggesting great unity at the club.

“I have great belief in the direction we are heading and know we have exciting times to come," Warner continued.

“As well as being great mates, I think we have the best list in the AFL.

“That’s one of the main reasons that I want to stay at this club. I want to get success and I think this is the best place for it.”

The Swans' Executive General Manager of Football Leon Cameron was delighted with the deal, implying Warner's immense significance around the club despite his age.

“Chad is an elite talent with an exceptional work ethic, so we are rapt to have him commit to Sydney for a further two years,” Cameron said.

“He is a popular and respected member of our playing group, who has been a key contributor in our midfield for several seasons now.

“At just 23, Chad has already made a huge impact, and with his best football still ahead of him, we’re excited to see his journey continue in Sydney.”

His new deal will take him through to free agency at the end of 2027.

In 2025, Warner is averaging 20.3 disposals and 3.8 clearances per game, maintaining his status as one of the clubs' most valuable midfielders in the absence of Errol Gulden and Callum Mills.
