The Hobart Hurricanes extended their lead atop the table by defeating the Adelaide Strikers by 37 runs.
The ladder leaders started the game quickly with Tim Ward (17 off 17) hitting back-to-back fours in the first over.
Mitch Owen then went on a short-lived but monstrous scoring spree, scoring 33 runs off nine balls, even hitting four consecutive boundaries!
The reigning premiers ended their innings after 20 overs with six wickets for 178 runs.
However, for the Strikers it was a one-man show with Liam Scott scoring 91 runs (not out) off 58 balls, delivering a career-best BBL performance.
The next best run-scorer for the Strikers was Englishman Luke Wood who made 11 runs from 16 balls.
Hurricanes skipper Nathan Ellis put on an absolute clinic, taking two wickets, along with eight dot balls, while only conceding seven runs from two overs.
The Strikers ended their innings after 20 overs with nine wickets for 141 runs, losing to the Hurricanes by 37 runs.
Next up for the Hurricanes, they will be away in Sydney on Sunday, taking on the Sixers in what looms to be a blockbuster of a clash.
Whilst for the Strikers, they’ll look to get their fourth win of the season against the Perth Scorchers at home on Sunday.
