BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)

FLEMINGTON - Race 9 No.2 - SIXTIES - Blew away older horses fresh running clear fastest last 600m/ 200m of the day (33.02/ 11.12) doing it. Out to 1400m back to own age on big Flemington track looks ideal.

EACH-WAY BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)

RANDWICK - Race 5 No.10 - CROSS TASMAN - Three excellent wins before coming wider than winner latest and just missing, he had slow recovery rate also. Doubt 1600m any issue. Not sacking!

VALUE BET OF THE DAY

FLEMINGTON - Race 2 No.5 - SUNSETS - Love way he hit the line fresh for new yard Vs pattern then good from bad gate 2nd-up beating home Touchdown and Yes I Know (ties in nicely). Draws in, gets to 2000m. The value $10?

Lightning Stakes

Race 8 - G1 Black Caviar Lightning Stks - WFA - 1000m

1 - 4 - TENTYRIS - Resumes. Exploded through and similarly, a world-class win in that G1 Coolmore running brilliant time. Was beaten fresh last prep but was ‘’underdone’’. He is trialling super. He will be ready this time I fancy!!

2 - 5 - BEIWACHT - Resumes. Golden Rose win was world-class. Below best in Coolmore here when Tentyris blew him away. I simply do not know who the better horse is, especially at 1000m, this guy is the much better price though. $7 Vs $2.4 early looks a big gap?

3 - 1 - GIGA KICK - Resumes. The pick of the older horses for mine. Trialled with My Gladiola and shaded but was under a hold. It was great work. Excellent win fresh last prep.

4 - 7 - MY GLADIOLA - Resumes. Followed Tentyris through in that (very fast) G1 Coolmore and whilst well beaten, she beat everything else and ran by Beiwacht. Shaded Giga Kick in trial as referenced. She was good.

5 - 2 - BARAQIEL - Resumes. Good horse but is he at his very best up the straight ?? Trialling well without raving. Stable say he is finally injury-free!
