Adelaide star Izak Rankine will miss the Crows' pre-season practice matches after pulling up lame during a training session at West Lakes.
As seen in vision from Wednesday afternoon, Rankine steps awkwardly while charging down a teammate mid drill, grabbing at his lower right hamstring before consulting with the club coaches and doctors.
Rankine didn't return to training, with the club today confirming that Rankine has suffered a low-grade hamstring injury.
Despite being on the minor side, Adelaide's High Performance manager Ian McKeown says the club are taking the conservative approach.
“Thankfully Izak’s strain is only minor, but we won’t risk playing him in our upcoming pre-season matches,” McKeown said.
Rankine remains under suspension for the Crows' Round 1 clash with Collingwood, with the superstar's next available fixture coming against the Bulldogs on March 20th.
