After Victor Radley escaped being charged by the NRL’s judiciary, David Riccio believes the Roosters star is lucky to have been handed that outcome.
During Sydney’s 38-24 win over the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday night, the England and NSW representative was placed on report on three separate occasions for two dangerous tackles on Ben Talty and a hip drop tackle on Josiah Karapani.
It was also shown on the broadcast that Radley led with his head, resulting in direct contact with Pat Carrigan’s head, opening himself to a potential fourth charge.
But despite all those instances, the 28-year-old escaped any charges from the MRC, catching many by surprise.

That included Radley himself, who was visibly shocked by the news while live on Fox League on Sunday.
Reflecting on Radley's attempted tackle on Carrigan, Riccio believes the star forward was lucky to avoid any punishment.
“Yes, he was lucky, absolutely lucky,” he stated on SEN’s Front Office with Vossy.
“Can we prove intent? No. But did he get it wrong?
“Is the onus on the defender to get his tackle technique right? Yes.
“And his head, collected Pat Carrigan's jaw, of which we're lucky that Carrigan's jaw is made of stone and that he got up and played the ball.
“That could have done serious damage, absolutely broken his jaw.

“And as I said, it may well have been an accident from Victor, and there's been no charge.
“But the onus is always on the defender, and that tackle technique was off.
“He got it wrong.”
The Roosters will look to make it six wins in a row when they travel to Gosford to play the Gold Coast Titans in Round 10.
That match will take place on Friday with kick-off at 6pm AEST.
SEN League will have live coverage of the match beginning from 5pm across SEN's radio network and on the SEN app.
