BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)

CAULFIELD - Race 9 No.17 - MARSEPT - Was trial star before good return beating all-bar Extragalactic (since super in G2) in slick time. Effortless maiden win latest running fast time than smart BM70 winner on day (despite 3L slower 1st-500m).

BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)

GOSFORD - Race 6 No.10 - KING OF THE SEA - Very good Oz debut from back and come through underneath in inferior ground yet still ran top-10 last 200m split on day. Up to 2100m and drops 2kg. Drier no issue at all too.

VALUE BET OF THE DAY

CAULFIELD - Race 5 No.8 - MAKDANE - Resumes. Proven fresh. Has 5kg on Farhh Flung for narrow defeat off freshen in Spring then beat al-bar G1 placed Zambardo. Ridden to win trial well. Good horse. $10 looks value!

The Coast

Gosford - Race 8 - Listed The Coast - 3&4YO Qlty - 1600m

1 - 4 - ON DISPLAY - Too wet two-back. Hopelessly held-up in Adelaide latest and it was a very good 9th!! G1 Empire Rose placing easy to like. Can hit back and $16 looks juicy.

2 - 3 - DEPTH OF CHARACTER - Came wide and kept closing fresh in race where trifecta sat 1-2-3. Hes a good 2nd-up horse. 4th to Autumn Glow in Golden Eagle too.

3 - 1 - ZAMBARDO - Had task back/ wide fresh at 1400m but his late splits were good. That was his first top-2 miss and yes 1600m now. G1 Champion Stks 2nd to Via Sistina is, well, world class form.

4 - 7 - ATHANATOS - Stayed 1400m one run too long latest plus, was run-ons race anyway (won in good time). That G1 Toorak Hcp 4th at 1600m says he measures up at odds…

5 - 10 - SARRISMO - Unbeaten this prep and dominant at Orange with 61kg. Did give Green Spaces a scare in Spring at Wyong… Gate 1/ 53kg here. Hmmmm
