The Australian Football Hall of Fame opened its doors to six new names while elevating one Legend on Tuesday night.

The Hall of Fame gala saw Western Australian legend Bill Walker elevated as the 34th Legend of the game for his deeds at Swan Districts.

Walker, the only player to win the Sandover Medal on four occasions, joins fellow WA football greats Merv McIntosh, Graham Farmer and Haydn Bunton Snr as a Legend.

Inducted into the general Hall of Fame was modern-day GOAT Gary Ablett Jnr - the two-time Brownlow Medallist for Geelong and Gold Coast.

Ablett joins his dad, Gary Ablett Snr, who was inducted in 2005.

Two-time West Coast premiership captain and premiership coach John Worsfold also joined the Hall of Fame ranks along with 400-game Essendon great Dustin Fletcher.

Tiwi Islands and Northern Territory champion David Kantilla was also inducted alongside fellow SANFL superstar Tim Evans who kicked 1019 goals for Port Adelaide.

Umpire Hayden Kennedy, who officiated 495 matches and five Grand Finals, joined the aforementioned players/coaches in the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
