The fan who chucked a lemon over the fence at Perth Stadium in Round 12 has been identified and banned from AFL and AFLW matches for five years.
The lemon struck Eagle Reuben Ginbey after the siren and the incident was reported to the AFL integrity unit.
It's understood the individual is not a West Coast, Essendon or AFL member.
Social media footage released in the days following also showed the perpetrator had a second lemon in his hand.
It's unclear why he threw the lemon and if he was targeting any specific player.
Last year the AFL suspended a Collingwood member after he sent a threatening message relating to Michael Voss to the MCC's social behaviour hotline.
