With Kane Cornes and David King taking a small break, SEN Breakfast’s Tom Morris and Sam Edmund had their go at pick or stick.
Choosing between free agents, Coach of the Year, Recruit of the Year and more, Edmund and Morris made the hard calls on some interesting topics.
Check out their picks below.
Edmund: “Two unrestricted free agents. Lachie Neale or Toby Greene?”
Morris: “I'm Lachie Neale. What are you?”
Edmund: “I'm probably Lachie Neale, but jeez, it’s marginal, isn't it?”
Morris: “I think Neale probably plays more good games than Toby Greene, but Toby Greene's best is unbelievable.”
Morris: “Max Gawn or Dean Cox as the best ruckman of the 21st century?”
Edmund: “The resumes would be very similar. They've both had a stack of All-Australians, and both won premierships… I reckon I'm going with Max.”
Morris: “He’s going to be a nine-timer in a month and a half.”
Edmund: “Watching Dean Cox, he did things that ruckmen were never supposed to be able to do. Athletically, he was amazing.
“But just Max for his influence, his leadership, his ability for such a long period of time… he's amazing.”
Morris: “I'm with you.”
Morris: “I'm going with Justin Longmuir at the moment, but it's a tight one.”
Edmund: “Oh, I reckon it's King.”
Morris: “Longmuir is top of the ladder. They've lost two games.”
Edmund: “So what? Alastair Clarkson never got named Coach of the Year. I'm going Steven King.”
Morris: “I'd go Curnow, but that's at the moment.
“What do you think? You think Oliver, don't you?”
Edmund: “Yep, I do. But Charlie's still writing his story, and it's getting better all the time, so who knows where that ends up.
“He might kick 70 or 80 and win another Coleman.”
