Legends Game 2026: Vics seal the deal as Buddy goes big

The Legends game is back and and the 2026 sides are on the field at Marvel Stadium.

If you've secured your ticket for tonight's blockbuster showdown between the Vics and All Stars then here are the key timings:

• Gates open - 5pm
• NFL Flag Football game - 5:30pm
• Player warmups - 6pm
• Amy Shark performance - 6:59pm
• Game time - 7:30pm
• Half-time Mascot race - 8:20pm

9:44pm - Man of the Match

Yet another medal on a big occassion.

Dustin Martin in his Legends Match debut for Victoria claims the man of the match award with six goals kicked.

9:34pm - FULL TIME

After losing last year's edition, the Vics get the job done.

The Big V closes out strong with a Dustin Martin goal on the siren concluding the festivities here at Marvel Stadium.

9:25pm - Super Lance to the rescue!

And just like, the All-Stars are back in business thanks to their superstar forward.

In the space of two minutes, Lance Franklin slots two Super Goals putting his tally to eight goals for the match.

Not a bad day's work from the 8x All-Australian as the All-Stars stay alive.

9:23pm - Vics puts their opponents to the sword

What a couple of minutes it has been for the Big V!

A Super Goal and two regular goals have pushed a tight margin into a comfortable one for Victoria as they press on to seal the match.

9:14pm - Franklin and Riewoldt combine

A lovely piece of teamwork between the two All-Stars

With a 2-1 in the goal square, Lance Franklin draws his opponent in to see Nick Riewoldt get the open handball and goal.

It's the Vics by two, here at Marvel Stadium.

9:10pm - Franklin kicks his sixth

He's getting closer to double digits here!

Lance Franklin has outmanovered Dyson Heppell and James Harmes with ease to get an open shot at goal.

9:02pm - Hughesy kicks his first for the night

After being hospitalised after last year's Legends Game, there were many concerned for Dave Hughes' return for the Vics.

But Hughesy has held his own so far and gets on the end of a goal after Mitch Robinson gives away a 50m penalty.

With a shot in front of the goals, the comedian slots it with ease...even by his standards and his lifted up by his teammates.

8:58pm - Torpedo incoming from Smith

A missile warning has been issued at Marvel Stadium off the back of a monster torp from Isaac Smith.

He gets the distance from the centre clearance which makes it a SUPER goal for the All-Stars and cuts Victoria's lead into four points.

8:56pm - Scotty James puts it through

He's Australia's most decorated Winter Olympian.

And now he's a goalscorer in the Legends Game.

Scotty James has extended the Vics' lead to eight points as they look to really extend it.

8:53pm - Team works makes the dream work for Vics.

It's some lovely teamwork by the Vics with a passage of handballs resulting in a Tom Sheridan goal who snaps it around his body.

Some lovely work resulting in a change of lead.

8:44pm - Dusty goes around the corner

Just like he did in the 2017 Preliminary Final against GWS, Dustin Martin has snapped a lovely goal to extend Victoria's lead.

8:29pm - Fev with a Bev

Whilst his time on the field was cut short, Brendan Fevola is making the most of a bad situation.

8:23pm - Half-time

After being down 23 points at quarter time, the Big V spirit has seen Victoria surge into the lead at the main break.

8:21pm - One goal to Ruel them all

He sings and he scores goal...is there anything Ruel can't do?

The singer-songwriter has drilled a goal from just outside the goal square to push the All-Stars within touching distance of the lead.

8:18pm - YABLETTTTTTTTTT STRIKES AGAIN!

It's another super goal for the Vics who take the lead thanks to the Little Master who scores a glorious goal.

And for the first time, the Vics have taken the lead.

8:13pm - Buddy goes BANG!

Lance Franklin is rolling back the clock with some performance tonight!

The former Sydney and Hawthorn superstar has absolutely nailed a super goal to push the All-Stars lead out into the double digits.

8:10pm - Buckley keeps the Vics within a goal

Dylan Buckley is proving to be a goal machine for the Victoria.

He's just scored another for the hosts as they cut the margin to under a regular goal.

8:05pm - Fev update

Following his injury from earlier in the game, Brendan Fevola has been taken down into the rooms for a check-up.

7:54pm - Quarter time

It's been a commanding performance by the All-Stars through the opening quarter in the Legends Match.

Goals from Lance Franklin and Eddie Betts stole the show.

But it hasn't all been one-way traffic, with Gary Ablett Jr. kicking an important super goal to keep the margin close.

7:48pm - Fev goes down

It's not the news the Vics would have wanted.

Their captain Brendan Fevola has injured himself after taking a mark inside the 50.

Dustin Martin takes the kick instead.

7:44pm - Gaz kicks the first SUPER goal

The Little Master has started the match with a bang!

Gary Ablett Jr. scores the first nine-pointer of the match with a running goal that sails through.

It cuts the All-Stars' margin to just under a goal.

7:42pm - The Fevolution is coming

The Vics are making sure this lead doesn't grow any further with their captain Brendan Fevola getting the opening goal for the hosts.

Getting it off Dyl Buckley, he dons the sunnies and slots it with ease.

7:38pm - A goal for Eddie...you Betts!

Eddie Betts makes it two from two for the All-Stars kicking a lovely banana to double their lead.

It doesn't matter where you are in Australia, if Betts has a chance to kick a goal in the left hand pocket, he's going to convert.

7:36pm - Buddy kicks off proceedings with a goal

In his first appearance for the All-Stars, Buddy Franklin has kicked the first goal of the clash.

It doesn't come much easier than those and the All-Stars take the lead within the opening minutes.

7:34pm - The LEGENDS MATCH IS UNDERWAY!

The time has arrived and the match has begun.

But who will get the chocolates?

6:23pm - Players warm-up

The players are now out on the field as they go through their warm-ups.

5:45pm - NFL Flag takes centre stage

With the NFL coming down to Melbourne on September 11, those in attendance at Docklands have been given a brief look into what the event will look with an exhibition game of NFL Flag.

Repping the colours of the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams, the Rams would get the dub.

5pm - The gates ARE OPEN

Fans have slowly poured into Marvel Stadium to get a glimpse of some of the heroes of yesteryear.

It's still not too late to purchase tickets.
