The MRC has handed down its charges from Sunday's matches, with Knights forward Jacob Saifiti learning his fate.

The prop has been handed a Grade 2 high reckless tackle charge resulting in a four-match suspension with an early plea following his tackle of Warriors' winger Luke Laulilii.

The incident occurred within the opening 15 minutes of their 46-32 loss to New Zealand at Go Media Stadium on Sunday, which resulted in the Knights playing with 12 men for the remainder of the match.

This ends the 30-year-old's season, as with the Knights' bye in Round 27, Newcastle could only play as many as four matches should they make the grand final from the bottom half of the eight.

The club is yet to confirm if they'll appeal the decision. The Knights will have to wait until the end of the week to learn who they'll face in the elimination final.
