Mind made: Dual Brownlow Medallist to join Victorian giant

Lachie Neale is bound for Collingwood.

According to SEN and Channel 7 reporter Tom Morris, the dual Brownlow Medallist and dual Premiership captain is set to sign with the Pies ahead of the 2027 season, joining at the conclusion of Brisbane's campaign.

The 33-year-old will join the club on a lucrative multi-year deal, as reported by Morris on Tuesday afternoon.

"My understanding is that Lachie Neale has made up his mind," Morris told 7News.

"Barring a late godfather offer from Brisbane that none of us think is coming, he will be playing for Collingwood next year on a three-year deal."

"West Coast ended up offering a deal that was nowhere near what the Pies have offered, but it will be Collingwood where he is in 2027, 2028 and 2029, with confirmation - I expect - to come in the days after Brisbane's season finishes.

"He is, of course, in the midst of a Brisbane finals campaign and the public line will remain the same, that he is focusing on his football and hasn't made up his mind yet.

"But I believe he absolutely has."

Having joined the Lions from Fremantle in 2019, Neale has gone on to win back-to-back premierships under coach Chris Fagan, chasing a rare three peat in what is set to be his final season at the club.

In 2026, the 33-year-old has averaged 30 disposals and seven clearances per game, named in the All-Australian 46-man squad while finishing 13th in the AFLCA Coaches Award with 73 votes over his 23 games.
