The five-club mega trade separate to the Zak Butters deal has been approved by the AFL.

OUTCOMES

  • Allows the Dogs to bring in Zak Butters as a free agent, plus Maginness and O'Keeffe for essentially nothing. And stockpile a host of later picks across 2027 and 2028.
  • Allows Port to have three top 15 picks in this year's draft, plus two more first-rounders across the next two years (Dogs and Dees).
  • Allows Melbourne to move up the draft order to 4, plus bring in Pick 31 which they will use on Zane Duursma.
  • Allows Hawthorn and Carlton to receive late picks for O'Keeffe and Maginness.
