See Gator's Game Plan below:

BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)

CAULFIELD - Race 4 No.12 - CALAMARI RING - Left behind when smart one Satono Glow sprinted in fast Cap D’antibes but loved her last 100m then to 1200m in Champagne Stks and best closer in race trifecta sat 1-2-3. Yes 1400m. Well drawn to sit closer.

BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)

RANDWICK - Race 10 No.3 - CROSS TASMAN - Just missed in hot form race fresh then gave 2kg to Decorum and gave him a scare 2nd-up and we get line on that form through Silver Eagle (R8). Won 3rd-up last prep.

VALUE BET OF THE DAY

RANDWICK - Race 6 No.15 - MARHOONA - Wide no cover in Premiere yet still beat key rivals in this race. Loved the fight to win G1 Galaxy 3rd-up last prep. $8 some value in wide race?

Feature races

Caulfield - Race 9 - G1 CAULFIELD CUP - 2400m

1 - 10 - WINE DARK SEA - First Oz start. His 2026 form is excellent (won 3 of 4 and had no peace and excuses in the miss). Beat Dubai Honour latest (and had no right to at the weights). Dry track form/ record is super. Wish he drew better is all.

2 - 7 - ENFJAAR - First Oz start. Went to 2412m at Goodwood and to strong for Opportunity (who was 3rd to Wine Dark Sea in May and then placed in Ebor) and Al Asay (two Group wins since). Has won in a field of 20. Can lead or be right there gate 1 and loves dry ground.

3 - 12 - SAINT GEORGE - Too wet last time. Was flying prior. Covered plenty of ground with weight in Naturalism beating all-bar Zahrann and has weight swing here. Has great record bone dry.

4 - 2 - COSMIC CRUSADER - A poor man’s Northerly. Just a bulldog and never runs poorly. Sailed by Sir Delius and Aeliana in Turnbull and its generally the best guide to this race. Gate 17 and likely Good-3 track at your first go 2400m are all the little queries but goes in everything!

5 - 4 - KINGSWOOD - I think he’s flying! Chased hot speeds last two and held on well at WFA. Crossed line with Birdman and near Sheza Alibi latest. Cosmic Crusader went by him un Underwood but this guy was 2nd-up at 1800m and on that hot speed, and only beaten 2.8L by him. Now has weight swing. Gate? Forgive his one miss 2400m on very wet. Best roughie?

6 - 1 - HALF YOURS - Won this well last year with 52.5kg. Kept closing in Turnbull and had 59kg. Proven at 2400m and others are not…

7 - 16 - ZAHRAAN - Too wet Turnbull. Strong late beating Saint George in Naturalism and he won a King George at home at 2400m. Well drawn with 53 he has a case for sure.

8 - 14 - SHE’S A HUSTLER - Long way off Cosmic Crusader in Turnbull but drier, fitter to 2400m with 53 she’s not out of this. Has beaten Light Infantry Man at 2400m.

9 - 21 - POINT OF LAW - Goes in if they get into field.

10 - 20 - JUJA KIBO - Goes in if they get into field.

Randwick - Race 7 - G1 TAB EVEREST - WFA - 1200m

1 - 1 - KA YING RISING - Best sprinter since (many say even including) the immortal Black Caviar and completely invincible at home in HK smashing his own world record for 1200m recently. In Australia he has trialled just fairly by his lofty standards, and, of course, won this race last year when reportedly underdone. He didn't smash them, but, he won clearly. Stable not worried about Soft ground, jockey is a bit though. Bring it on!

2 - 9 - TEMPTED - Two brilliant wins this prep form two. That change-up speed is electric and she closed strongly on Ka King Rising this race last year as 3yo filly. Obvs come sup in weights but she is better/ stronger and will handle wet. Looks the danger!

3 - 7 - NINJA - An immense talent no doubt. Excellent return win in fast time then back and very wide latest and that was no guide. Beat Ka King Rising in recent trial and looked great!

4 - 2 - JIMMYSSTAR - Just when it was D-Day. The old Jimmysstar returns and unleashes a blistering finale to win G1 Manikato with the blinkers on. I do love him ridden cold like that. Wide/ Good third this race last year.

5 - 12 - BLUE DOOR - Acid test here and at 1200m no doubt but she’s running time from the front and did power through line last time… Fancy she’s just getting better / stronger each time we see her.

6 - 8 - JOLIESTAR - Just always runs well. Bit against and top return from her in Shorts. Has run very well in this, twice. A Heavy track would worry but everything else is A-OK her.
