The Panic-O-Meter was run on SEN Breakfast on Thursday morning.

Sam Edmund and Kane Cornes have gone through a number of sporting topics and given their panic stations rating from 1 (calm) to 10 (panicking).

See their latest list below:

Pat Cummins' time as Aussie captain

Edmund: “2.5. I don't get the hate.

“They've won more than anyone else. They're not going to win every Test match. He's going to make mistakes. Sure, he's not in the best form with a ball at the moment, but he's class.”

Cornes: “34 in May. Fast bowler, somewhat of an injury toll.”

Edmund: “Oh, if he retires? I thought you were alluding to the fact that he could be removed as captain.”

Cornes: “Not removed, but is it time for a succession plan? How long is he going to be in the job? Should there be any pressure on his job?

“I’m a 6.”

Edmund: “Always pressure. Nah, I'm a 2.5. I’m low. There'll be no change there to the captaincy.”

MCG curator Matt Page

Edmund: “After last year's Boxing Day Test finished inside two days was the subject of worldwide scorn. The ICC judged it unsatisfactory and docked them a demerit point.

“Panic-o-meter on the curator of the Boxing Day pitch?”

Cornes: “9. Is that fair?”

Edmund: “I think so.”

Cornes: ”He’s got to get it to three and a half days, doesn't he?

“For broadcasters significantly, that is an unmitigated disaster if it ends in two.”

Edmund: “They lost millions of dollars millions.

“Panic-O-Meter on the poor old curator Matty Page. That's some serious pressure.”

Glass jaws of the AFLW

Edmund: “8.8 and rising.”

Cornes: “They’ve got significant glassy jaws. Now I keep hearing, ‘We want the feedback, we want to be scrutinised, we want that because it means that the game is growing.

“I hear that come out of people's mouths, but then the minute there is some constructive criticism or feedback, the glass jaws shatter.

“So of all the sports we've got in this country, I reckon they have the glassiest jaws.

“I’m a 9. I'm glad we're on the same page.”

The marketing and membership department at St Kilda

Edmund: “Off the back of no prime time slots in the first 16 rounds.”

Cornes: “10 for this irrelevant football club at the moment.

“What's happened to them? I thought they were coming, I thought they’d arrived.

“Andrew Bassat told me that they've arrived and people are pushing back because we're here. 10.”

Edmund: “Yeah, that's as close to a 10 as I reckon we've got.”

Cornes: “Wow. Zero prime time.

“So the Grand Final is Round 1, where it's Collingwood on Saturday. That's about as good as it gets, and that's a good home fixture for them.

“Then we're off to Barossa Park on a Sunday at 1.10.”

Petrol prices never coming down

Cornes: “Is that just the standard? Once it's there, it's there, it's never coming down, is it? Ever. It's never coming down.”

Edmund: “They're forecasting a slight dip.”

Cornes: “10.

“Now my 2011 Hilux is diesel. Is diesel ever coming under $2 ever again? I don't think it ever will.”

Edmund: “I’m 11.

“Filling that up yesterday, for the first time ever, I'm filling it up and I'm thinking I’m not going to go the whole way here, just gonna take a stand against the pump.”

Patrick Cripps - Game gone past him?

Cornes: “I said to you and to him and to the world that I'll never mention that again.

“Even when he's running on one leg and he’s 39 years of age.”

Edwards & Marshall at Geelong

Edmund: “I listened to Rowan Marshall yesterday talk about his pending life in Geelong. So my Panic-O-Meter is for his new teammate Mitch Edwards.

“Just a young bloke, making his name in the ruck. Look at all the minutes he's playing. Aside from the Luke Jackson game, he equipped himself really well.

“Panic-O-Meter on having his position stolen by Rowan Marshall.”

Cornes: “I’m a 5.

“I don't think he's a ruckman that can get through the rigours of the whole season, Mitch Edwards. It’s a big load for him.

“And Rowan Marshall is a capable forward. So the dual ruck combinations I worry about is when Ned Reeves and Lloyd Meek, none of them can play forward. Or Dante Visentini and Jordon Sweet. Not one of them can play forward.

“I know Marshall is there to be the number one, which is fine. He can be the number one for two years, but you still play Mitch Edwards for 16 games a year and you work out a way to do that.

“Five on the bench, and then eventually he takes over when he's absolutely ready. So I'm not too worried.”

Gold Coast Suns

Cornes: “They're not gonna be a legitimate premiership contender. I'm a 7.5.

“What's the expectation because this time last year was prelim final probably after Round 4 and the premiership favourites.

“Do we drop that back now just to a finals appearance? Is it wild card gonna cut it? What is it? For me, it's finals minimum.

“Winning a proper final, not this wildcard stuff, a proper final is minimum.”

Edmund: “Which they did the year before, interstate. And they were coming with real growth.

“I still don't know what happened. That's the biggest riddle of the year for me. What on earth happened to the Gold Coast Suns?

“Better on paper, worse on the turf. What happened? Weird.”
