The Brisbane Lions coaching race is down to four candidates.

SEN’s Sam Edmund is reporting that there is now a final four for the coveted role to replace Chris Fagan.

The four names are: current Lions assistant Cam Bruce, former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley, West Coast premiership coach Adam Simpson and current Magpies assistant Hayden Skipworth.

It is still expected that Bruce will land the job, but there is healthy competition to take over at the three-peat Lions.

“The Brisbane Lions coaching race is down to four candidates now,” Edmund said on SEN Breakfast.

“The final four is Cam Bruce, Nathan Buckley, Adam Simpson and Hayden Skipworth.

“Daniel Giansiracusa for whatever reason didn’t go for it.

“Cam Bruce still seen as the favourite to replace Chris Fagan.

“They’ve got their shortlist, the formal presentations are now underway. This will come into view pretty quickly.

“Bruce is seen as the most logical successor at this stage.”
