North Melbourne is set to land a reserve key defender via Delisted Free Agency.

After failing to land Adelaide defender Nick Murray through the AFL Trade Period, the Kangaroos remain keen to acquire depth at the key defensive position.

And with clubs able to lodge deals for delisted talents from Wednesday the 4th of November, North Melbourne have their eyes on a key back that was axed by the back-to-back-to-back premiers.

“Darragh Joyce will find his way to a club - North Melbourne,” Player agent Liam Pickering told SEN Sportsday.

Sportsday co-host Sam Hargreaves added: “They have been on the lookout for a key defender, and Darragh Joyce did play well (when called upon).”

Pickering: “When you’re in the best 26 of the best team in the comp… I think it’s a great move by North.”

The 29-year-old Irishman has played just 27 AFL games since his debut with St Kilda in 2018, mounting three games for Brisbane in their 2026 campaign.

Axed Magpie Wil Parker is also expected to land at Carlton, with manager Pickering confirming the deal.

“He will find his way to Carlton. That is going to happen,” he said.

“The Blues are keen.”

105 players have entered the Delisted Free Agency Period, with clubs set to prepare list spots ahead of Friday’s deadline.
