A police report was also filed such was the extreme threat of violence directed at the referee in the Brazilian under-20s state championship clash between Uberlândia and Mamoré.
Forty-three players, eight members of coaching staff and two club officials were issued red cards by referee Fernando Patrick Drosghic Modesto whose report said a goal celebration from a Mamoré player instigated the all-in brawl.
“This is Mamoré, go f--- yourself! Suck it! F--- off," is allegedly what was shouted at the Uberlândia bench.
The previous world record was 36 red cards which were dished out in a fifth division match in Argentina between Atlético Claypole and Victoriano Arenas in 2011.
