AFL stats gurus Champion Data have revealed their list rankings for 2019.
Melbourne has been graded as the competition’s best list, with the Demons possessing the top-rated midfield, second-best defence and fifth-best forward line.
Despite missing the finals in 2018, Adelaide has the second-best list according to Champion Data, with Richmond and Essendon rounding out the top four, respectively.

Reigning premiers West Coast enter their flag defence as just the 11th best list, with the Eagles ranking 15th in the midfield rankings. Runners-up Collingwood have the fifth best list.
Gold Coast’s recent player exodus sees their list graded as the AFL’s worst, with Carlton being the lowest ranked Victorian side at 16th.
