Kane Cornes’ most watchable player in the AFL at present

West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui continued his red-hot form in Saturday night’s thrilling win over Geelong.

Naitanui dominated the ruck battle to power the Eagles to a nine-point victory after they trailed the Cats by as much as 22 points in the second quarter.

Speaking on AFL Media’s The Round So Far, Port Adelaide champion Kane Cornes believes the star Eagle is the most watchable player in the AFL at the present time.

“Bit of talk about who is the most watchable player in the game,” Cornes said.

“Toby Greene’s been mentioned, Tom Papley’s been mentioned, Dustin Martin’s in the mix. It’s hard to go past this guy (Naitanui), though.

“How unique is he as a player? He does things other players just can’t do.

“He’s had a horror run and the resilience that he’s shown on the back of the knee injuries he’s had and the Grand Final that he missed and then to come in and do this has been terrific.

“He looks more confident with every game he’s played this year.”

Geelong coach Chris Scott was left “mesmerised” by Naitanui’s ruck work that included 12 hit outs to advantage to go with his four clearances and six score involvements.

The win over Geelong was West Coast’s fifth on the bounce that saw them move into fourth spot on the ladder.
