Braydon Preuss has decided to leave Melbourne, according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.
Preuss joined the Demons from North Melbourne at the end of 2018 but hasn’t been able to establish himself at senior level.
The 25-year-old has played just 10 games in two seasons and Edmund understands that GWS is one of multiple clubs interested in securing his services.
Preuss is contracted to Melbourne until the end of 2022.
“Braydon Preuss, a lot of interest in him. He has decided to leave Melbourne,” Edmund told SEN’s Dwayne’s World.
“It hasn’t worked out in the sense that he hasn’t played as much as he would have liked and the two-ruck set up hasn’t transpired. He has also been injured for a bit of it all as well.
“He has loved it there at Melbourne to the point where up until two weeks ago, Braydon Preuss was keen to stay in the red and blue.
“But he’s seen Marc Pittonet become a No.1 ruckman (at Carlton) and others around the league and he senses a real opportunity.
“GWS are in the mix but there’s a few interested parties there, even if the Giants seem the logical suitor.
“Braydon Preuss will definitely leave Melbourne.”
Edmund is also reporting that GWS will retain veteran ruckman Shane Mumford as a back up option for the 2021 season.
