AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian has handed down his verdict on several incidents from Round 22.
Collingwood forward Brody Mihocek has been hit with a one-match suspension for his bump on Brisbane’s Tom Fullarton.
The incident was assessed as Careless Contact, Medium Impact, High Contact.
As it’s a first offence, the Magpie can accept a one-match sanction with an early guilty plea.
While Mihocek wasn’t so lucky in escaping MRO punishment, star Geelong duo Tom Hawkins and Patrick Dangerfield won’t face any time on the sidelines after their incidents were assessed.
Hawkins was cleared for a dangerous tackle on St Kilda defender Darragh Joyce, and while the Saint was to be subbed off due to head injury concerns, Hawkins escaped suspension as Christian deemed his actions ‘not unreasonable in the circumstances’.
Like his star teammate, Dangerfield was cleared after he was reported on Friday night for making high contact with St Kilda midfielder Brad Crouch.
Christian assessed the contact as out of Dangerfield’s control as he was pushed into the contest by St Kilda’s Zak Jones.
Lachie Hunter (rough conduct), Zaine Cordy (dangerous tackle), Zak Butters (striking), Josh P Kennedy (careless contact with an umpire), Robbie Tarrant (dangerous tackle), Jy Simpkin (striking) and Luke McDonald (striking) all received fines for their incidents.
