Luke Dunstan won’t play for St Kilda next year.
The Saints are not prepared to offer Dunstan a fresh contract beyond this year despite an amazing resurgence in the second half of this season.
The midfielder went from playing one game last season and not expecting to play at all in 2021, to playing every game from Round 11-22 with excellent numbers.
Dunstan could have been on the move last year, but trade talks broke down with Adelaide during the Brad Crouch free agency shift.
The on-baller isn’t blessed with speed, but he averaged 26 disposals and more than six clearances a game before he was suddenly dropped for the last game of the season against Fremantle.
Still only 26, Dunstan is expected to field interest from rival clubs, particularly given he is likely to make any move far more straightforward as a delisted free agent.
