Geelong star Jeremy Cameron has been cleared of any serious injuries following his heavy collision with Essendon defender Jayden Laverde in Saturday’s 66 point-win.
Cameron and Laverde clashed after the Cats forward went back with the flight midway through the second quarter, with the star forward playing no further part in the contest.
While there was hope he could return to the ground, Geelong fans would have been concerned after seeing footage of the 28-year-old carted off to hospital in an ambulance.
Thankfully, The Age are now reporting that he’s been discharged and been cleared of any internal issues, with the knock proving just to be a hip pointer injury.
According to that report, Geelong remains hopeful that Cameron could play in their Round 2 clash on Friday against Sydney.
While Cameron may return, the Cats will be without Sam De Koning against the Swans after he suffered a concussion in the third quarter of yesterday’s game.
