Hawthorn forward Mabior Chol has been offered a one-game ban for striking Errol Gulden in Sunday’s loss to Sydney at the MCG.

Chol struck Gulden as his teammate Blake Hardwick lined up for goal. While Hardwick’s shot went through, Chol’s strike caused the umpire to pay a reverse free kick, ruling out the six points.

The MRO graded the strike as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

As a result, he’ll miss Hawthorn’s clash against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday if he accepts the guilty verdict.

If Chol misses, Hawthorn will be desperate to recall Mitch Lewis, who was a late withdrawal for Sunday’s loss as he continues to deal with knee soreness.

Sydney midfielder Chad Warner also received a fine for a rough conduct offence on Will Day in the same game.
