Essendon forward Harrison Jones has been handed a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on North Melbourne’s Zac Fisher.
The key Don’s tackle was classed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
While Fisher wasn’t injured, Jones rolled the Roo over in a tackle where his head made contact with the turf.
He’ll miss Essendon’s clash against Richmond at the MCG on Saturday night if the club accepts the ban.
In other news, Luke Parker has been sent directly to the VFL Tribunal for his bump on Frankston’s Josh Smith.
Smith was left with a concussion and facial fractures after the hit which was graded as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.
If Parker receives a ban, he won’t be able to play AFL across the suspension. He hasn’t played in 2024 so far after breaking his arm in the pre-season.
It’s believed that the VFL will push for a ban of four or more games.
