Luke Hodge believes that Geelong has rediscovered the form that saw the Cats as one of the best teams in the competition earlier this season.
After only recording one win between Rounds 8 to 15, the Cats have made a statement after big consecutive wins against Essendon and Hawthorn.
Hodge suggests that much of their rise back to form is to the credit of their premiership coach Chris Scott and his ability to adapt the positions of his star players.
“This is what I've really liked about Chris Scott, he's not going to be happy just sitting back and missing out on finals,” Hodge told SEN's Sportsday.
“He's probably been able to let the players figure it out themselves, but he had to make a few structural changes himself and I really liked them.
“You look at the midfield, he put Tom Stewart in and he has an impact the last couple of weeks.
“Sam De Koning, he's just added a little bit (in the midfield) and I thought against (Lloyd) Meek his athleticism around there really worked for him.
“You've got Zach Tuohy, he's gone from the wing to the half-back line. (Ollie) Dempsey's been pushed up to the wing, he played 90 per cent on the wing on the weekend.”
“Jeremy Cameron has been more of a stay-at-home forward. (Max) Holmes has moved across to half-back so they've got his speed and his aggressive nature to come off half-back.”
“So a few of them were forced, but a lot of them were the coaches throwing the magnets around.
“Watching it first-hand on the weekend, they got the spark back again.”
After their back-to-back wins, the Cats currently sit fifth on the ladder and just two points outside the top four.
They will be keen to continue their recent form when they face Collingwood at the MCG this Friday night in order to get themselves back into the top four.
