Fremantle is daring to dream in 2024.
The Dockers appear destined to return to the finals fold this season after falling outside the eight in 2023.
While they do sit fifth they are only two points clear of ninth-placed Port Adelaide with six home and away fixtures remaining, highlighting the competitiveness of this season.
But as Freo wrestles for a finals spot right now while looking ahead to the future, club CEO Simon Garlick is feeling positive about 2024.
He believes the sky is the limit for Justin Longmuir’s side and insists that this season’s premiership - which would be the club’s first - is not out of reach.
“It’s quite open, there’s never been a season like it,” Garlick told SEN’s Sportsday.
“We’re planning on contending on a sustained basis for a long period of time, but why not in 2024?
“We’ve built a list over a significant period of time, we’re incredibly excited about the opportunities ahead of us, and we think we’re going to be able to contend on a sustained basis like some of those clubs have done for so, so long.
“There’s no ceiling on 2024.”
The Dockers, who were beaten by Hawthorn in Launceston last weekend, return to their home comforts of Optus Stadium to host eighth-placed Melbourne this Sunday in a crunch clash.
They then meet West Coast in the Derby, Essendon at the MCG, Geelong in Perth, GWS in western Sydney before hosting Port Adelaide to round out the home and away season.
