Sam Ackerman stood in for Scotty 'Sumo' Stevenson alongside regular co-host Israel Dagg all week, with some of the big talking points being Beauden Barrett’s huge All Blacks performance, the passing of Norm Hewitt and State of Origin.
Towards the end of the week, they narrowed in on the Kiwis relationship with Origin, the Warriors - as they approach the business end of the season - and the Olympics, which are now only a week away!
This is the best from the week that was on SENZ Breakfast:
ADAM GEE:
To start Tuesday’s show, we got out the blocks with a nod to Spain’s sensational day of sport, as well as a serious discussion about how disappointing it was to see Adam Gee with the whistle for the Sharks v Tigers game, after referees boss Graham Annesley reportedly said nobody from the Warriors v Bulldogs game would be officiating.
KENNEDY SIMON:
Black Ferns co-captain Kennedy Simon also joined us on Tuesday, after the news that she’s extended her contract with New Zealand Rugby through to 2028 - the longest commitment signed by a women’s fifteens player in New Zealand.
HAMISH KERR:
A hot medal prospect, Hamish Kerr joined the show on Wednesday from France to talk through his preparations and how he’s feeling ahead of the Paris Olympics.
TAWERA NIKAU:
Tawera Nikau joined us on Thursday following the State of Origin decider to discuss the Kiwi perspective and what’s next for our national league side.
