Sam Ackerman joined Israel Dagg once again for the first three days of this week, before we welcomed back Scotty Stevenson from his travels around the UK and Europe.
The week began with looking at how the All Blacks have fared in their first three Tests of the international rugby season, another heartbreaking loss for the NZ Warriors and the backlash Chanel Harris-Tavita received for his performance in particular, and the week only got crazy from there.
As the Olympic Games in Paris loomed, Canada Soccer were caught up in a spying scandal when the Games' heightened security revealed that an analyst from their women's football team had flown a drone over private trainings held by the Football Ferns, their first opponent of the tournament.
A lot of questions were raised of the defending Olympic champions and it only blew up from there.
This is the best from the week that was on SENZ Breakfast:
Mark Tompkins joined us from the ground at Royal Troon to recap the Open Championship which had just concluded that morning with Xander Schauffele picking up his second major win of the year.
Sir John Kirwan also joined the show on Monday to recap Razor’s first three Tests in charge and give his thoughts on the current setup, plus reaction to last Sunday's big news that Ardie Savea would be playing for Moana Pasifika through until 2027.
Daniel Hillier joined Sam & Izzy on Wednesday after finishing The Open Championship as the top Kiwi golfer, finishing in the top twenty on three-over par.
He spoke about his experience of playing the challenging Scottish links course with fellow Kiwis Ryan Fox, Kazuma Kobori and Michael Hendry also there, and the upcoming Olympic golf tournament at Paris' Golf National where the 26-year-old will represent New Zealand alongside Fox.
New Zealand Rugby CEO Mark Robinson joined us in studio on Thursday for a general update following the team’s match against Fiji in San Diego.
Alongside sailing's Jo Aleh, track cyclist Aaron Gate was announced on Friday as New Zealand's flagbearers for the opening ceremony.
In his fourth Olympics, Gate is looking to add to the bronze medal he won at 2012 Olympic Games in London. He spoke with Scotty & Izzy shortly after the announcement was made.
