Who were the six best players in Round 20?

Nathan Buckley and Kane Cornes assessed each game on SEN Breakfast and came up with their top six performers.

Read his thoughts below:

Nick Daicos

Buckley: “I watched Nick Daicos yesterday, he had 18 touches in the first quarter. He was untagged for that period, Liam Baker tried to go to him, Seth Campbell tried to go to him…”

“Nick Daicos’ work-rate was significant and he was a big factor in that result.”

Adam Treloar

Buckley: “I thought Treloar at the SCG was next level. It’s probably more for the block of form that he’s put together.”

“He’s been in ripping form and that midfield is ripping opposition teams to shreds.

Lachie Neale

Buckley: “He’s the other one I saw quite a bit of. He keeps going from strength to strength. We know he’s a gun player, can he win a third Brownlow? He’s every chance to.

“He had 35 touches and finished with a goal for the cherry on top late.”

Cooper Sharman

Cornes: “I watched Cooper Wayne-Carey Sharman on Saturday afternoon. It was an incredibly unexpected performance.”

“He’s been around for a while and every time you watch him play he does something. He’s terrific overhead and he’s really athletic, but this game he put it all together and Saints fans would be really excited by this.

“He’s out of contract and what this performance would have done to his earning power, he’s probably gone from a one-year deal to two or three and there’s probably other clubs saying they’d love a 24-year-old athletic third forward.”

Tom Stewart

Cornes: “Loved Tom Stewart’s game. He did what he always does and was allowed to do it without much resistance from North Melbourne.”

Caleb Serong

Cornes: “Maybe my favourite player to watch right now just for the art of playing the midfield role and what he’s doing and how clean and powerful he is, but he and Andrew Brayshaw also both defend with their life, which is rare for gun midfielders to defend as much as they want to attack.”

“He’s clean, his hands are elite and his ball-use is becoming a bit more damaging as well.”
