Two Adelaide forwards are ranked inside the 10 best players in the competition across the last six weeks – Riley Thilthorpe (seventh) and Ben Keays (fourth).

Thilthorpe, a former top five draft pick, has played five games this season after suffering a knee injury in the pre-season.

He returned looking like a different player in Round 18, looking noticeably bigger and stronger.

He has kicked 11 goals in those five games and Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne is becoming a big fan.

“I wanted to give this guy a bit of a shoutout. Over the last two weeks, he’s been involved in 20 scores, which is a ridiculous number for a key forward,” Hoyne told SEN’s Sportsday.

“He’s been the fourth best target in the competition since returning. Over 60 per cent of the time Adelaide go to him they’re scoring.

“He looks massive ahead of the ball. He’s the fifth best one-on-one player in the competition.

“Adelaide hasn’t got a lot going for them at the moment, but their forward 50 is the second best forward 50 in the competition and they’re scoring second most off stoppage in the competition.

“This talent they’ve got ahead of the ball is functioning as well as anyone in the competition and it’s why they are a dangerous matchup for the final fortnight of the season.”

Keays meanwhile has had three big games in the last six weeks and has kicked 15 goals in that stretch.
